Arrived November 2009, Abigail was found by a young couple as they went to the river to fetch water on November 14th. Despite being a newborn preemie, she seemed quite healthy. The couple instantly fell in love with her and believed that God had answered their prayers for a baby. They hoped to be foster parents but it was not possible.

Arrived July 2008, Abraham approximately 6 weeks old. He like so many, is one of many babies abandoned at camps for internally displaced people around the country. He was abandoned and although he was small, Abraham was healthy from the beginning. He always has a smile for you.

Amos (Samaki) Baraka (Blessing)

Arrived December 2007, Amos was born at the district hospital, but his mother ran away leaving him behind the day he was born. He stayed in the hospital for two and a half months as they tried to trace his mother. During that time he did not receive proper food and suffered from malnutrition and developed a serious case of rickets. When he arrived we started treatments for rickets with balanced nutrition and baby formula, he began to improve quickly. Amos looks like he might be Somali. He has curly but not really kinky hair and very round eyes.

Anthony Faraja (Comfort)

Arrived December 2009, Anthony was about 12 months old when he was abandoned at the gate of the Village Inn area of town. He is severely handicapped with cerebral palsy. We suspect that his disability may have contributed to the reason he was abandoned. When he arrived, his hands were completely curled in, the skin literally rotting. With massage and manipulation exercises daily, his muscles are relaxing and he is slowly becoming more active.

February -2012, Antone continues to suffer with eating problems. This is one of the biggest concerns for his health. He constantly chokes on his food or can’t keep it down. This is a common problem with “CP”. We pray for his healing.

Born December 16, 2010 and arrived on December 17 at In Step. Ashlie and her twin sister Paula weighed just over 4lbs. It is so sad that their mother died while giving birth, she bled to death. The father does not want them as he felt they caused her death.
